Lagos provides 51 transformers for rural communities

Update Time:2015-04-16

Nigeria, Lagos: The Lagos State Government handed over 51 transformers to rural, riverine and semi-urban communities across 57 local areas of the state in order to boost electricity generation and distribution in the communities.

The provision of transformers has been made possible by members of the State House of Assembly, as electricity providers Eko Electric Distribution Company (EKDC) and Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKDC) disclosed that they are in need of transformers to effectively distribute power to the state, reports All Africa.

Over the years the state government has been providing entire rural electrification and transformers in its communities since the federal government and private companies have not been able to adequately address the state electricity problems and needs.
